Skomer Island Puffins
Skomer Island, in Wales, UK is one of the most accessible and significant seabird breeding sites in Europe. This Nature Reserve is managed by the Wildlife Trust and is an absolutely incredible place to visit. The highlight is seeing the Skomer Island puffins which can be found there as early as April until the end of June.
The puffins that can be found on Skomer Island are Atlantic puffins, which are the smallest type of puffin. There are about 25,000 – 30,000 breeding and Luckily the puffin colony there is thriving, which is amazing news because many puffin numbers and colonies elsewhere, such as in Iceland, are declining.
